Umango Version 27 is here!

Idea
Version 27 is our most impressive release yet, delivering a completely refreshed experience across the platform.
Umango has been redesigned for a cleaner, more intuitive workflow - every supported device brand now enjoys an all-new embedded UI. This includes page pan and zoom at the device panel, plus completely reimagined and elegant export field browsing and data lookups.

Under the hood, Umango now targets .NET 10 and brings Cloud/AI OCR to more places than ever, with support for file format conversion in all tiers and zonal OCR in applicable tiers. Building jobs has never been easier, with improved wizards, streamlined OAuth setup for connectors, a smarter IF merge method, and a rich, color-coded merge field editor that makes complex configurations easy to read and understand at a glance.

Dashboard and UI enhancements

  • Dashboard UI refresh — refreshed dashboard UI and related enhancements to improve readability and useability
  • Merge field UI — significant improvements to the merge field UI including rich color coding and enhanced tooltips
  • Merged text file export options — improved UI for export to merged text file options
  • Job wizards — improvements to job wizards to make better use of screen real estate and improve general usability

Device improvements

  • Refreshed device UI — all-new device UI across all brands, including:
    • Support for page zoom and pan at the panel
    • Support for pinch-to-zoom on supported devices
    • All-new and improved export field browse UI
    • All-new and improved export field lookup UI

Connector enhancements

  • OAuth usability — significantly enhanced usability and UI for connectors that utilize OAuth
  • Web Request connector — added support for Authentication profiles - including OAuth

OCR and AI

  • Cloud/AI OCR for file formats — Cloud/AI OCR is now available for related file formats (.docx, rtf, pdf, etc.) in all tiers where page consumption licensing is used
  • Cloud/AI OCR for zonal OCR — Cloud/AI OCR is now available for zonal OCR in Pro and Elite tiers where page consumption licensing is used

Merge method enhancements

  • IF merge method — enhanced to support multiple IF statements without the need for nesting multiple IF statements

Other Important changes

  • ABBYY engine — the ABBYY OCR engine is no longer in use.
  • Obsolete connectors — obsolete connectors have been removed. Jobs with obsolete Merged Text connectors are now automatically and seamlessly upgraded to use the Network Folders connector with its merged text features configured
  • .NET 10 — Umango now targets .NET 10
Warning
When upgrading from previous versions, jobs previously configured to use the ABBYY OCR engine will be automatically upgraded to use the Cloud engine - a faster, more accurate alternative. If you do not wish to use the Cloud engine, you will need to manually change the OCR engine selected to Tesseract.

  • OAuth Flow— resolved inconsistencies in some OAuth flows with some connectors
  • S3 Bucket Connectors — added new import and export S3 Bucket connectors
  • Viva Connector — added enhancements to the Viva export connector
  • Various other minor bug fixes and performance improvements
